Mind melting hardcore punk from Groningen. Musically Glitch follows some of the better parts of ‘10s NYHC. Primitive stomping riff heavy hardcore punk mixed with some early ‘80s UK anarcho.
On Towards the Gutter, Glitch once again comes through with some nasty sounding hardcore with a tad of post punk. Think of Gag meets Crazy Spirit and add some violently paranoid vocals. Starting in hot with the opening statement of ‘Glitch II’, the final song, aptly called ‘Punishment, Life Itself’ is an original Glitch remix by Eigen Risico. Coming in hot right after the endlessly repeating riff of the before-final song ‘Prison’, this is a record for repeated listens. The band sets a theme on this record and are taking chances in what can be kind of a cookie cutter genre. For fans of Bib, Hoax, everything mentioned before and the likes.
Featuring members of Real Farmer, Oust and Altered States. Members also organize shows under the moniker of Rat Race. Towards the Gutter is co-released under Rat Race Records, Autoreverse Records and Tartarus Records.
